THE CYBER BULLYING VIRUS
Added Friday, March 23, 2012,
This is a PSA Web Video produced through STRUTT Central's social awareness component in their programs for girls. This video is a serious example of the virus Cyber Bullying and it's disease like effects. It illustrates how fast the virus spreads and infects others and can ruin the lives of it's victims, in this case Jane Doe. The cure for the virus is found in those who stand up against it. We chose the national Anti Bullying colour PINK to be the symbolic antidote that stopped the bullying from spreading. This video was created to support PINK SHIRT DAY and spread awareness on Cyber Bullying! Please Follow Pink Shirt Day on Facebook (www.facebook.com/pinkshirtday) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/pinkshirtday)

Anti-Bullying Blog's Tip of the Day
Added Wednesday, March 21, 2012,
Nobody has the right to hurt other people by hitting them, kicking them, calling them names, spreading rumors about them or by doing anything else which is intended to be upsetting.
Bullies try to justify their actions by saying that it is their victim's fault for being different. They may pick on someone who is tall or small, or fat or thin, or wears glasses, or has a different accent, or another religion, or is shy or clever, or good looking, or disabled or . . . Any excuse will do, and if there is no real difference then the bullies will invent one.
If this is happening to you tell yourself that it is not your fault, and that it is the bullies who need to change, not you.
What To Do
Talk to someone you can trust, a teacher, parent, older friend or relative.
Be persistent. If the first person you talk to ignores you don't give up, speak to someone else.
If you can, write down everything the bullies have done or have said to you, and try to write down how you feel. When you have found someone you can trust and who is helpful, discuss what you have written with that person. Be very careful to only write down things which really happen.
If you find it difficult to talk to an adult, ask one of your friends to come with you, or ask someone to talk to an adult on your behalf.
Most importantly, do something. Sometimes bullying stops quickly but doing nothing means it may continue until someone is seriously upset or hurt. That could be you, or the bullies may find new victims. If their behavior is not challenged they are unlikely to stop.
What Not To Do
Don't try to deal with the problem on your own- there is nothing wrong in asking for help.
Don't hit the bullies- you might end up being accused of bullying yourself
Always tell the truth about what has happened. Don't exaggerate. If a small part of what you are saying is shown to be untrue then it throws everything else into doubt.
Don't believe the lies that the bullies tell about you.
Don't hide what is happening from the adults you trust. Keeping things secret is the bullies' biggest weapon against you. That is why they go to so much trouble to try to stop you telling.

Operation HOLD ON! (Stop Bullying!)
Added Wednesday, March 21, 2012,
We made this video in support of making someone smile, and try to prevent bullying :)
We bought post-it notes and wrote inspirational quotes, and compliments on them! We then posted them around stores, on fence posts, around schools and on peoples cars. We thought it would be something to make someone smile, and maybe, if someone is having a really bad day, it might help a little bit!
We had so much fun doing it, and it really does feel good to do something nice for someone else, it might seem like something small to us, but to someone else it might be something big :)
Hope you enjoy the video!

Your Voice is Power-ANTI-BULLYING ANTHEM
Added Wednesday, March 21, 2012,
Disturbed with the bullying crisis, Stella Katsoudas, lead singer of Sister Soleil started an Anti-Bullying Campaign, encouraging victims of bullying and abuse to fight back with music and creative expression instead of violence and self-harm. "Even at a Whisper (Your Voice is Power)" was recorded at Glasswall Productions in Geneva, IL with a group of bullied kids who you can hear chanting in the chorus. The group of kids and Sister Soleil designed anti-bullying posters and organized an anti-bullying protest, "No Bullies Allowed", raising awareness and giving hope to victims. This song and it's message is meant to encourage using creative outlets and music to fight back instead of violence and in hopes of preventing teen suicide. This song is dedicated to anyone that has been bullied, anyone that is hurting right now and feels like they have no voice, anyone that is tormented for being who they are and everyone that has ever been bullied. We care and we are here for you.

Added Thursday, March 15, 2012,
People who are bullied often retreat into their own worlds and are too ashamed (even though they have done nothing wrong) to reach out for help. Dr. Mary O'Malley, a sleep expert, talks about the effects of being bullied on sleep, and how to know when you must absolutely reach out for help. She gives the warning signs to look for.
