Look for the Best in Others - WRC PSA
Added Friday, April 20, 2012,
One of a series of 5 PSAs created to reflect the 5 challenges that the national anti-bullying group Rachel's Challenge has issued for middle-schoolers. These Public Service Announcements were created with Anchorage School District students and teachers from Wendler Middle School's Rachel's Challenge program. The entire series was produced by Progressive Media Alaska with big-time support from Out North, who donated their space, and also from F magazine & KACN TV who have both generously helped to promote the project. A big thank you to all involved, especially the students who spent long nights after school working on production!
Any questions about these PSAs can be directed to the Progressive Media Alaska team at: akprogressive@yahoo.com or 907.868.2623

'Ronan's Escape' - Short Film on Bullying [HD]
Added Tuesday, April 17, 2012,
Winner of 9 international film awards, this stunning short film set in the rural wheat belt of Western Australia, provides a candid insight into the life of Ronan (David Lazzarus), a 14 yr old boy who's been bullied at school his whole life. This accurate & controversial portrayal of life for someone who has fallen victim to bullying and the repercussions which exist, is told by director A.J. Carter in a unique, visually exposition intensive format with very little use of dialogue.
Ronan's Escape presents arbitrary scenes rather than traditional storytelling techniques which provokes audience discussion and individual interpretation of the scenes while reflecting on their own personal experiences.
*Continue the experience: Official Ronan's Escape DVD with special features, script, behind the scenes, photo gallery and more available at www.RonansEscape.com.
An educational 'censored' DVD is also available for use in schools. Please visit www.RonansEscape.com and contact the producers for further information.

Identifying and Combating Cyber Bullies
Added Wednesday, April 11, 2012,
Bullying has long been an unfortunate aspect of schooling, but today it is no longer confined to the real world. Cyber bullies are making their presence felt, and, while their motivations are the same as those of the schoolyard bully, the way they operate is quite different.
